Ayla Resha

Ayla is blessed to live a life close to the land. Growing up on community, submersed in her families food forest. Ayla is a lover of food as medicine and from a young age has incorporated the knowledge and wisdom of plant medicines into her daily life.
Ayla’s father had a medicinal herb nursery while she was growing up, Ayla was an enthusiastic helper - with her hands in the earth from a very young age, living and breathing the authentic experience.

Ayla wishes to offer to the world what she has been blessed to have at her doorstep. She is inspired to help humanity re-discover earth based preventive herbal medicines. Health and well-being is her top priority. Ayla Rejouises in helping others develop a deep intimate relationship with their bodies and health autonomy. Ayla loves creating and providing delicious and health bearing products. seasonally infusing what's most abundant everyone can now have a taste of land.

In her early twenties Ayla lived, studied, and worked on an herb farm in Northern California. She lived with a horticulturist woman on top of  Bear Mountain in a pristine place brimming with nature’s abundance, wild herbs growing everywhere. During that time she infused her life with all sorts of plant preparations, making tinctures, balms, sun teas & medicinal oils - a truly immersive experience and real-life exploration of herbal medicine.

On her return to Australia, Ayla bought a house on the community she grew up on. Her first priority was to plant as many food and medicine plants as possible. Ayla took over her father's organic farming business, expanding into larger food production. While working the land, Ayla was granted a scholarship to study with Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, sharing in this study journey with her close friend Nirmala.

While studying, developing her home, farming business and community, Ayla came to realise that being a primary producer was a lot of physical labour. She was looking to transition into growing smaller areas of food and medicine to create high quality products from the land. It was at this point Ayla met a honeyed sister Emily.

Emily and Ayla co-created for 3 years working with bees and creating Hive and Herb medicine products. perfecting the art of herbal infusions, natural skin care, beeswax balms and candles and many other medicinal potions.

Ayla is very happy to be taking Hive & Herb Alchemy forward. continuing to offer high vibrational food and medicine from the land. seasonally infusing Herbs into Honey and Ghee and many other wonderous offerings from natures abundance.

To the sweet unfolding of the blossoming flower, may we bee-vital and radiate true Health and Beeauty.

Nirmala Rose

Nirmala's journey is anchored in connection with nature, community, and spirituality. She has walked a unique path, growing up deep in the bush on an organic farm, an Italian mamma initiating a love for wholesome food. She spent her formative years living in ashrams, studying yoga and meditation, then travelled the world to explore intentional communities and healing modalities. Learning how to open her heart each step of the way…

She has studied herbalism, massage, bowen therapy and midwifery, with a foundational understanding in physiology, Ayurveda and Chinese medicine. Her dedication is to embody and support physical, emotional, and spiritual well beeing.

Rainbow gatherings are where like hearted humans gather and practice living as tribe, as brother and sister, children of the one mamma, Gaia. They have been a formative pillar of truth for Nirmala, revealing the fact that we are heard animals, interdependent beeings, designed to live in interconnected togetherness.

In 2011, Nirmala and Ayla met at a Rainbow gathering in Tasmania. Instantly falling into recognition of the synchronicity in one another’s lives, they began travelling together, and Nirmala first visited the community where Ayla was born. 10 years later (2021), Ayla supported Nirmala to anchor a house at Homeland, and their lives have been deeply interwoven since.

In 2018, When Emily was pregnant, Nirmala supported her to find a nest and birth Olive. The journey with Emily helped awaken Nirmala to the profound spiritual teachings of the Hive. When Emily reached out to Nirmala again, wanting to relocate north for the second time, Nirmala clearly felt it was prophecy, to support Emily to move to Homeland, where the journey of beeing, guided by the bees, continues…

Nirmala wasn’t ready to fully commit to Embodybee when the business first landed at Homeland, as she was still armpit deep in building her home. Almost three years later, with a supportive partner and community by her side, Nirmala felt ready to take on another project, and has said yes to the journey of Hive and Herb Alchemy with Ayla.

Nirmala spends her days growing food and medicines, frolicking by the river, and is forever studying about health and herbalism. Her spiritual focus is on vipassana meditation and cultural repair.

Her prayer is that this life be a remembering, of the power of living in alignment with the earth, the cycles of nature, and the wisdom passed down through generations.

Deep gratitude to the teachers of these wise ways

The Hive & Herb Alchemy Vision

The highest purpose of Hive & Herb Alchemy is to bring the folkloric medicines back to the people. In ancient times all cultures had access to herbal medicine; most using honey to preserve their medicines.

Our products are high quality, and we strive to grow, forage and source local, organic ingredients. Currently here on Community we are growing a small percentage of the herbs and honey we use. As Hive & Herb grows we dream to utilise the Certified Organic farm here on the land for ethical large-scale herb and honey production.

We aim to offer annual workshops. In the future we hope to offer internships for those wanting real-life immersion in herbal medicine growing and bee tending.
